Free Trees 2022
Cllr Dixie Darch, Executive Member for Climate Change is delighted to be offering Parish, Town Councils and community groups free trees for National Tree Planting Week, 26 November to 4 December 2022.
We are offering you the opportunity to order trees, stakes, ties, and guards to the value of £100.00 per organisation, free of charge.
You can choose bare root trees available in several varieties and these will be ready for collection only from our local nursery situated at Taunton Deane Nurseries, Stoke Road, Stoke St Mary, Taunton, TA3 5DG, week commencing 21 November 2022.
The closing date for requests will be Thursday, 20 October 2022 at 6pm.
How the scheme works:
Step One
To take part in this scheme you must be a Parish/Town Council or an unparished area within the Somerset West and Taunton District.
Step Two
Using the price list below, decide how many of each species you would like, this can be in any combination to the value of £100.00.

Step Three
Email your request to freetrees@somersetwestandtaunton.gov.uk, providing the following information:
- Unparished area/Parish/Town Council name
- contact name
- contact telephone number
- the number of each tree requested
Step Four
A member of our team will process your request and add it to our main supplier order. We will contact you to confirm your request and the date and time slots for collection, which will be during the week commencing 21 November 2022, between the hours of 8am and 3pm Tuesday to Friday only.
Step Five
Plant your trees using the tree planting advice and guidance available from organisations such as The Woodland Trust, Royal Horticultural Society and The Tree Council. Please provide us with photos of the trees being planted for social media use via freetrees@somersetwestandtaunton.gov.uk.
