Somerset West lottery

The Somerset West Lottery is a local lottery run by Somerset West and Taunton Council.

The lottery offers good causes registered with the lottery the opportunity to raise income for their organisation by selling tickets to members of the public. Good causes receive 50p from every £1 ticket sold; 10p goes into a community grant fund for which local good causes can apply annually and the remainder goes toward prizes and operating costs. Draws are made weekly.

The jackpot prize is £25,000.00 for a matching sequence of six numbers, other prizes include £2,000.00, £250.00, £25.00 or three free lottery tickets. Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance of winning.

If you wish to apply to become a good cause contact Somerset West Lottery:

All applications made to the SWL community fund and received by the published deadline are assessed by Somerset Community Foundation and SWTC staff. Applications are assessed on value for money and impact on the local community.

Good causes are checked with financial, governance and operational due diligence. Applicants do not have to be registered charities, but they do need to be run by a committee of at least three people, have a constitution or set of rules, and a bank account with at least two unrelated signatories who are not part of the same household.
