Paying your council tax

You can pay your council tax in different ways.

Ways to pay

Direct Debit

Paying by Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your bill on time. You can choose to pay on one of these dates: 1st, 8th, 15th, 20th or 23rd of each month.

To set up a Direct Debit:

Pay online

You can pay council tax using a Visa and Mastercard debit or credit card. You will need your Council tax account number (you can find this at the top of your bill).

Internet banking

Use your internet banking service to set up a regular payment to us. Quote the council tax account number shown on your bill.

Our bank details are:

The Allpay app means you can pay your bills from your Apple, Windows or Android smartphone.

Post Office

You can pay your council tax at any Post Office free of charge using the barcode on the front of your bill. Always keep your receipt to prove you’ve paid.

If you pay by cheque at a Post Office, pay at least five days before the due date so it will get to your account on time.

Check for your nearest Post Office by using the branch finder on the Post Office website.
