Paying your rent

You can pay your rent as our tenant in different ways.

Ways to pay

Direct Debit

If you have a bank account you can pay your rent direct. You can pay Friday weekly, Monday fortnightly or monthly between 1st and 28th. Download the Direct Debit mandate, print, complete and upload it using the general enquiries online form.

Online

To pay your council rent online, you’ll need your 14 digit rent reference number or 19 digit bar code number, your postcode and a valid payment card. We can’t accept Electron cards.

Standing Order or internet banking

Visit your bank or use your own internet banking service to make a payment to us. You’ll need:

Account number: 00000000
Sort code: 62 25 87

Please quote your 14 digit rent reference number starting 2 or 3 which is on the letters we send you.

Phone with your bar code card

If you have a bank card you can use our 24/7 Payment Line 0300 304 8000. Just follow the links to pay rent for council tenants. You’ll need your 19 digit bar code number, your postcode and a valid payment card. We can’t accept Electron cards.

PayPoint

You can pay your rent at a PayPoint outlet using the bar code sent to you. You can ask for a replacement bar code Firmstep form. Go to Allpay to find your nearest outlet.

AllPay app

You can pay your rent using the Allpay app on your Apple, Android or Windows smartphone.

Post Office

You can pay your rent at any Post Office free of charge using your old plastic rent card or using the bar code card. Always keep your receipt to prove you’ve paid.

If you pay by cheque at a Post Office, pay at least five days before the due date so it will get to your account on time.
