Emergency housing

If you, or someone you know, needs emergency housing you can find details of organisations that may be able to help.

We can offer bed and breakfast to people in most need. This is decided with a housing officer based on health and well-being, in relation to housing law. We must also see if you’ve made yourself homeless on purpose.

If you’re sleeping rough and you want to see if you qualify for emergency housing by the Council please phone: 0300 304 8000.

We’ll ask about your health, housing history, local connection and any help you get or need. It helps if you’ve got details of any medication, treatment and support you use.

We may ask you where you have lived for the past 5 years. It helps if you bring a list where you’ve lived before, why you left, and if you’ve slept rough.
