How to apply for a job

You need to fill in an application form if you’re applying for a role with us. We use the information you give us to decide whether to shortlist you. Please do not send in CVs or testimonials as these will not be considered.

You should take the time to read through the job description and person specification before you start to fill in the application. You’ll be able to learn more about the job and find out what skills and experiences you need to be successful.

Make sure you fill in your application as fully as possible. It’s your chance to tell us about yourself, and how you meet what we are looking for. Give examples from either your home or work life to show you have the skills and experiences we want.

If you are a school or college leaver with little work experience, draw on your time at school or college and activities you were involved in.

We need two references. We would usually contact them if you are successful at interview. Please provide a phone number and, if possible, e-mail address for both your referees. Referees should not be friends, or colleagues who have not managed you.

For posts working with children/vulnerable adults, any current or previous employer will be asked about relevant disciplinary offences (time expired or not), whether you have been the subject of any child protection concerns and the outcome of any subsequent enquiry or disciplinary procedure.

We reserve the right to ask for information from any previous employer, especially any job involving work with children or vulnerable adults.

Data protection

Personal information that you provide in support of your application will only be used for recruitment and selection and nothing else. The successful candidate's application form will be kept while they’re employed by us. All other application forms will be destroyed within a few months of their receipt. Equal opportunities monitoring forms will be separated from the application forms when we get them. These will only be used for monitoring. They will be destroyed within a few months. We will use the information from all the applications for statistical and employment reasons for the successful candidate.
