Job shortlisting

Shortlisting is carried out as soon as possible after the closing date. At least two people will shortlist. Shortlisting is completed by measuring the information you give us against the person specification. The application form is not used as a test for literacy, unless that’s a genuine requirement of the job. There is no maximum or minimum number of candidates who will be shortlisted. The reasons for shortlisting and rejecting candidates will be recorded and kept for six months.

Unfortunately, due to the number of enquiries for vacancies, we can’t acknowledge receipt of written applications unless you specifically request this by enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.

If you have not heard from us within 3-4 weeks of the closing date you should assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
