Prize gaming permit

If you want to provide gaming with prizes, you must apply for a prize gaming permit. You must be the occupier of a premises and over 18.

You can’t apply if a club gaming permit or premises licence issued under the Licensing Act 2003, is in place for the same premises.

You can apply for grant of a prize gaming permit and send the completed form into us with the fee of £300.

When we get your application we will consult Police who can object based on the licensing objectives:

  • keeping gambling crime free
  • making sure that gambling is fair and open
  • protecting children and vulnerable adults

We must also consider your suitability:

  • previous convictions
  • the premises

A prize gaming permit will last for 10 years.

You should allow up to two months for the application to be processed.

Prize Gaming Permits are issued under the Gambling Act 2005.
