If you don’t receive a polling card, you may not be registered to vote.  You need to register to vote by midnight on Monday 19 April to make sure that you have your say at the ballot box. The easiest way to register is by visiting

Voters have three options for casting their ballot – in person at the polling station, by post or by proxy (i.e. they can appoint someone they trust to vote on their behalf).

Somerset West and Taunton Council will be despatching their postal votes from Monday 19 April.

The last day to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021.

The last day to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.
