Coronavirus (COVID-19) information and advice

SWT Offices Closed

23 March 2020 : Council news

Following the latest government advice to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus SWT has closed its offices to protect our community and staff.

Many of our services can be accessed online

If you still need to see someone face to face please call our customer services 0300 304 8000 between 8am – 6pm to make an appointment.

If you have a homeless emergency please call the free phone number 0808 164 5186

This way we can keep you and our staff safe.

Customers can help us through this unprecedented time by using our online services and not communicating via paper post as far as possible as we are no longer processing incoming mail. Please do not contact us by post until further notice. If you have written to us since 23 March please contact us again via our website.

This is particularly important for the planning service where we would encourage you to use the Planning Portal to submit applications or email planning@somersetwestandtaunton.gov.uk for advice.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Federica Smith-Roberts said: “The health and safety of our staff and our residents is our top priority. We are following advice from Public Health England daily and understand that this is a worrying time but be reassured that we will communicate with you effectively and maintain core services.”
