Dead animals
We are able to remove certain dead animals from land owned by the Council. This includes road gutters, pavements and public paths.
We can remove:
- Badgers
- Cats
- Dogs
- Deer
- Otters
- Foxes
- Farm animals
We cannot remove:
- Hedgehogs
- Rabbits
- Squirrels
We are not able to remove dead animals from private land. This is the responsibility of the landowner and any incidents will need to be reported to them directly.
Report a dead animal on council land
To report a dead animal needed collection on council land use the online form below.
- make sure you give the exact spot
- if you don’t know the address include a description of nearest landmark in your report
Report a dead or injured animal on the road
If the dead animal or injured animal is in the middle of a road, report it to the County Highways by calling 0300 123 2224.
